Stolen Cereal.

Comments

A dirty face and a box of stolen cereal.

When I picked Roman up from Bryan's parents home he was running around with his cousins  and I fully expected that he'd be stuffed with food and other treats (and he was.) The minute we got home we were in the kitchen - Roman making a beeline for it as soon as he was free of his buggy straps. He begged for food; rice cakes, lollipops, nice drinks, even a strawberry jam roll that he normally eats for lunch. Figuring that he must be growing I offered him a rice cake but he only ate half of it.

"CEREAL!" he chanted, very excitedly, once he spotted the box. When my back was turned he took this as his cue to grab the box while standing on tip toes. He ran to the living room, box in hand, and dug deep until he got a nice handful of the stuff. "Roman," I said gently. "Did you take the cereal without asking?"

Roman: "Chocolate cereal! Mmmm!"

He certainly wasn't apologetic or guilty about his thievery and even when I caught him in the act he kept digging into the box and stuffing his face with cereal, cheeky as you like ;).

Love My Little Grub.

Comments

A busy day of chasing cousins, playing in sand, eating everything in sight (that is dairy free, of course) and sunshine brought home to me this little man. Full of smiles, chatter and dirt.

We got a new PC a few days ago, which has taken about a good week to get parts and for Bryan to set up (so we could cut corners and save a bit of cash.) When Roman got back from his grandparents today he was bewildered at this new contraption sitting where his toy box is usually housed ;).

"CHAIR!" he squealed in delight, closely followed by; "WANT DRINK!"

Looks like we need to work on his manners a little more ;).

And in other news: I very nearly didn't get a picture today. I have been very sick since my trip to the dentist - which I'm hoping is coincidental (no pun intended) and not related...or maybe I'm hoping it is related so that I'm not struck down with a horrible throat-closing sickness that I've had once before. Being sick is so much fun. Well I'm just grateful I'm nowhere near a hospital, that is something to celebrate :).

Sock Sock.

Happy to dress himself Roman selects some Spiderman socks from his sock drawer.

"SOCK SOCK!" he'll scream excitedly and then quickly pull them on should we take them away and try to put them on his little feet ourselves.

Hat.

It's funny how the tide of what a toddler likes and dislikes shifts so easily. One day they'll love cous cous and the next they'll spit it out all over you. One day they'll refuse to even entertain the idea of wearing socks and shoes and the next - you might have guessed this answer already - they'll refuse to wear anything else and have a meltdown if shoes slip off their feet.

The tide of this little toddlers taste is shifting yet again. Hats. Envelopes, leaflets, bits of paper lying around all become 'hats.'

When my sister appeared today for a swim session with me at our local leisure centre Roman was quite pleased she appeared with a hat - his new favourite attire.

Becoming a Boy.

Comments

He's fast becoming such a big boy. Lately he loves to do everything lying on his tummy - I suppose it must be comfortable for him, but I'm not so sure it's that great for his digestion ;).

P.S: Happy leap year day. And happy extra day for 2012 :).

Finished.

A happier day. A happier boy. All to my relief and happiness. A little boy eats a bowl full of humus very happily and when he's done announces; "Aw dun!" (all done) and follows that up with, "mimished" (finished), the bowl held away from his body like this, waiting for me to take it away.

I love his new found independence, but I still love these moments like this. He'll fight me for the spoon and feed himself, but he's quite happy for me to take the bowl away. And I should add, let me do the dirty work of washing all his dishes ;).

Just as well he's so cute and super helpful with his other chores :P.
